Terrorists attack Rann

Suspected members of Boko Haram, believing to be the Islamic State of West African Province faction, have Monday evening attacked Rann, the headquarters of Kalabalge local government in Borno state.

According to our sources, the terrorists who struck at about 5:00pm came with two cars and many motorcycles.

They were engaged in gun dwell with Nigerian troops.

They went after people’s properties and burnt houses, the number of which is not clear.

Some sources however said that only two houses were burnt.

Similarly, the terrorists also overran an International Organization of Migration (IOM) hub, where they stole printers, and thereafter burning the warehouse.

According to a member of the Civilian JTF, ‘people have ran to bushes seeking safety. Right now, 12 people are dead’, he explained.

Rann is 174 kilometers away from Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno state.

The community has suffered some attacks from Boko Haram in the past.

The most notorious was the attack in March 2018 that led to the abduction of female health workers, who were later killed.

No information is issued yet by the military regarding the attack.
